Our Programs

Church Life Africa (CLA), in collaboration with the University of Notre Dame, is dedicated to equipping young African Catholics with the tools and resources necessary to foster vibrant communities of faith and service. Our programs are designed to empower lay Catholics to live out their theological calling, while also addressing the broader mission of the Church in Africa and beyond.

Key Initiatives

CLA Conference Series

Annual gatherings that bring together scholars, clergy, and young Catholic leaders to engage in theological discourse, foster cross-continental partnerships, and explore ways to deepen Catholic identity in a modern world.

Church Life Impact Awards

A flagship program recognizing and supporting young Catholics who design, lead, and sustain innovative projects inspired by Catholic theology. These projects address pressing societal needs while reinforcing the church's teachings.

Virtual Hangouts and Tribe Initiative

Grassroots efforts to foster connection and collaboration among Catholics. Quarterly virtual hangouts bring the community together for learning and sharing.

Theology for Service Leadership

Launching in Fall 2025, CLA’s Theology for Service Leadership is a two-year program including introductory courses in theology, and an internship placement oriented towards leadership and service in the church and society.

Through these initiatives, Church Life Africa is building a generation of lay leaders equipped to serve their communities, strengthen their faith, and foster enduring connections across the Church. Join us as we strive to realize the promise of a vibrant Catholic future in Africa.
